Methodology
How Evidante works
Your clients do the R&D. Evidante preserves the evidence and organises it for the professional who decides what qualifies. This page sets out each step and where Evidante stops.
Capture
Evidante records activity from the tools the team already uses (GitHub, Jira, Slack and others) as it happens. It records what happened, who did it and when. It never accesses source code.
Preserve
Each record is dated and linked to the record before it, so any later change, insertion or deletion is detectable. Nothing is dropped as routine: every record in scope is kept.
Organise
Records are grouped by client, project and date, and described by what they show ("43 commits, 18 ticket updates"), never by what they prove. Records added later are labelled as added later.
Professional review
The reviewing professional reviews each project and records their decision: include, exclude, or needs more information, with their reasons. Evidante does not assess whether work qualifies.
Defence Pack
The pack contains the records, the professional's review and sign-off, and how each record was captured. It comes with an integrity check anyone can run without an Evidante account.
Where Evidante stops
- Evidante does not decide whether work qualifies for the R&D credit. The professional does.
- Evidante does not grade, score or rank evidence.
- Evidante does not give tax or legal advice, and it does not file claims.
- We are not endorsed by the IRS. No private firm is.
- We do not guarantee outcomes. Examination results depend on the facts and the evidence.
